We are very proud of our effulgent motherland of peace and prosperity with unity even in diversity. We have a high heritage of higher learning and spiritual prowess that attracted since ages many scholars and scientists across the Globe. Our great sages, saints, rishis, philosophers, and many more have carried our spiritual lore and culture far and wide over the seas.
With such a glorious past behind us, it is but our natural concern for all of us to keep up these great moral and spiritual values high and tall and ensure constant and progressive betterment and development. Of late, it is seen that there is a need and a good scope to improve further in the area of peace and non-violence. Society does not seem to be calm and happy. A lot of unrest and violence seem to creep into our society. There may be many reasons for this, but much significantly, this kind of disorder is triggered by the lack of spiritual science and yogic lore education in our education system in modern times as far as the human lifestyle is concerned.
Learning physical sciences and allied sciences focuses mainly on money-making and material possessiveness. People think of the happiness of objective and possessive nature. Happiness based on material may vanish along the material itself. Money is neither the source of happiness nor sorrow. The good and bad of the money are directly proportional to the good and bad of the individual handling it. While this is so, it is increasingly clear that we unknowingly tend to ignore our human values. Moral or ethical values are declining. We begin to lose moral and spiritual values of kind heart, compassion, empathy, togetherness, etc. towards co-existence in society. We forget that respect and reverence are the very nature of oneness and harmony. No one can be happy if these values are low.
Man is saddled always with the dilemma of which way to peddle. Clarity of what to do and what not to do has been a perennial issue before man. Illusion is something that we mistake for another. Delusion is that despite the knowledge, we follow the wrong. This is the problem that generates lawlessness and violence in a small or a big way. This is universal.
There is thus violence in houses, market, bazaar, towns, states, countries, and everywhere around the world with raging international conflicts. The outcome of this is evident in disharmony, wars of words, and misunderstandings culminating in violent altercations and public wrath, often leading to the loss of lives. Terrorism is another barbaric disorder.
Spiritual Sciences are therefore of utmost significance to snub such darker areas of human life. Spiritual values are not religious practices. They are fundamental sciences of human conscience and existence. This science embraces man and matter. They teach us Jnana (spiritual wisdom) and Karma (excellence in actions), which are essentials for every human irrespective of any religion, caste, or creed.
Here is our role to step up the spiritual and ethical learning in our generation in order to enjoy our past glory of oneness. We need spiritual values to play a higher role.
Spiritual Science is ethical teaching to save humanity from all kinds of mental afflictions due to illusion and delusion of nature that plays a negative role in one’s life if not understood fully.
Many philosophers opin that all miseries of humanity can extinguish by means of love. Man is supposed to love everyone. The loving nature of man is divine. Togetherness or friendliness is the true nature of consciousness. We are all one and united by the Self. But we stand divided because of the duality of nature. If we understand this, the division disappears between us and we stand together. We realize the truth of the oneness of our existence, which our ancestors have taught in our spiritual scriptures.
Let us discuss how much we know who we are. We need to analyze the words, ‘You’ and ‘I’. Both words are pronouns. They are not nouns. But we use them for indicating our names or our identities, the names of individuals, say, Rama, Krishna, etc. If the word ‘you’ stands for Rama, and ‘I’ stands for Krishna, then others will have no scope to use ‘I’ or ‘You’ as they are used for ‘Krishna’ and ‘Rama’ respectively. But, both words are used by everyone and everywhere around the world. So it goes without saying that these words ‘I’ and ‘You’ are not meant for the names of individuals, but some other thing existent in them. Then we must refer to the exact meaning of the English word ‘I’ in the English Dictionary. There, we find the meaning appearing as “ Self Consciousness ” against “I” besides other meanings. We will catch up on the meaning of Self Consciousness more appropriate to the word ‘I’ as Self Consciousness is existent in the individual who is using this word. To make it clear, Mr. Rama has his self-consciousness in him which is called himself. Krishna has the same way, the Self-consciousness in him. Both Rama and Krishna can use ‘I’ as both of them have Self Consciousness. The assumption goes the same way with the word, ‘You’. You have Self Consciousness and can use ‘I’. When I address you, I mean ‘yourself’ and not your name. I can address many persons as “ You ” as it refers to their Self Consciousness in them and not their physical names. The word ‘He’ is also representing his self in him. ‘It’ also represents ‘itself’. Now you can see the following different words and the meanings they are used for. Thus the noun-form of ‘I’ is in fact ‘ Self ’ and not the physical name nor the physical body. It is Self Consciousness. ‘I’ is Self Consciousness.
Analysis of ‘ I ‘ & ‘ You ’
‘I’ = Self = My-Self
‘You’ = Self = Your-Self
‘He’ = Self = Him-Self or His-Self
‘She’ = Self = Her-Self
‘It’ = Self = It-self
OR
I = You=He=She=It=Self
In our Vedic Scriptures =, it is emphasized thus:
Ahm! äüaiSm= Aham Brahmäsmi = I am Brahman = ‘ I ’is Self
Aham + Brahman + Asmi
tTvm! Ais = Tatvam asi = You are That = ‘ You ‘ is Self
Tat + Twam + Asi
saehM = Soham = He is Myself = ‘ He’ is Self
SaH + Aham
tTst! = Tat sat = That is That = ‘ It ‘ is Self
Tat + Sat
From the above, it is quite clear that we are all the same. We are connected by the Self-existing in all of us. Our bodies vary, and our actions may differ, but basically, our energies are the same as our Self.
Spiritual Science says that if we align our mind with the Self within, we imbibe the divine qualities of the Self and we all perform on similar lines of wisdom. What is the Self? The attributes of the Self are “ Satyam-Jnanam-Anantham”. We are basically truthful, wise, and infinite-hood. We all can acquire these qualities if we learn spiritual science and practice “Dhyanam” which is “Meditation” in English.
Meditation is the gateway of spiritual wisdom, that has love, wisdom, and infinite performance. We excel in the physical and spiritual areas. Such a man is Mahan Vyakti or Jagadguru.
We can thus divert our energies into making our society a furthermore heavenly place of bliss and peace with no violence on this earth planet once we catch up the Spiritual Science. It is mandatory for us to learn spiritual lore which is the only savior to wipe out human miseries and sorrow forever, as Swami Vivekananda opined in his various works.
The Pyramid Spiritual Science Academy has brought out textbooks for kids separately for VI to XII standards and the Degree class and making efforts to address the human value system through possible means. The need of the hour is to induct these values into the academics of modern times.
